Chelsea to offer Rodriguez pathway out of Wolfsburg

Chelsea are set to make a bid for Wolfburg's Ricardo Rodriguez.

Germany publication Blick reports that Antonio Conte is eyeing the Swiss international as he strives to sign a quality left-back before the end of August.
It is understood that Rodriguez, 23, is keen to leave Wolfburg this summer but the Bundesliga outfit are unlikely to allow him to leave on the cheap even after his£21.5million release clause expired in July.

Chelsea are looking to strengthen on the left side of defence after loaning Nathan Ake to AFC Bournemouth and Baba Rahman to Schalke and have already been linked with FC Koln's Jonas Hector who is a target for Liverpool.

Rodriguez is contracted with Wolfsburg until 2019 and would command a hefty price tag if Die Wolfe were to sell the former Zurich star.
