Juventus hoping striker can fire them to glory after big money transfer
Having won five Serie A titles in a row, the goal for Juventus this season is clear and if spending 90 million euros on Gonzalo Higuain was not a big enough statement of intent, the Argentinean striker was quick that he shares the objective.
Arriving in Turin after completing an Italian record transfer from rivals Napoli, the 28-year-old immediately showed he is aware of what is expected of him and the team this season.
"The goal is to win the Champion League, but for now I want to be calm in order to arrive in the best shape for the first fixture,"said Higuain.
Juventus were eliminated by Bayern Munich in the last 16 of the Champions League, and by adding a centre-forward as prolific as Higuain, the hope is that he can propel them to further glory.
Higuain may well be something of a hate figure in Naples after completing the controversial transfer but after scoring 36 league goals last season, he was given a hero's welcome by the bianconeri fans, and reciprocated that warmth.
The Argentina international described the move as'a new adventure and a beautiful feeling, 'before adding that Juventus has a 'great team'.
