JOSE MOURINHO is ready to sit down this week and speak with FIVE members of his squad fearing for their future at Manchester United.
FEARED: Five Man United fans are worried they may be axed by Jose Mourinho
Old Trafford boss Mourinho is determined to keep a happy ship ahead of the upcoming pre-season tour to the Far East.
It is understood the Red Devils’ hierarchy have been forced to stall approaches from players’ representatives in the last couple of weeks who are all keen to find out where their clients presently stand – and whether they will be heading for the exits in the near future.
Adnan Januzaj, Juan Mata, Antonio Valencia, Bastian Schweinsteiger and Phil Jones all remain in the dark at the moment.
A number of youth players who made breakthroughs under Louis van Gaal last season are also waiting to learn their fate under Mourinho.
Some could be kept in and around the first-team squad or sent out on loan.
Mourinho is believed to want to keep a close-knit squad of around 20 players, although United insiders insist the ex-Chelsea supremo is undecided on the fate of a number of players.
Jose does not want any negativity on the China trip ahead of the upcoming season and will tell his fringe players that it is up them to convince him why they should keep their spot in the squad.
