Arsenal and Chelsea still interested in La Liga ace: Bid dependent on player’s wishes

Arsenal and Chelsea aren't prepared to give up on Alvaro Morata, according to reports.

The Gunners earmarked the Real Madrid striker as a target during the summer window, as doubts surefaced over Olivier Giroud, although Arsene Wenger ended up spending £17m on Deportivo La Coruna's Lucas Perez.

Chelsea also monitored his progress, as Antonio Conte sought to beef up his attack, but instead £33m on Michy Batshuayi.

However, Spanish news outlet Don Balon claim both Premier League powerhouses will keep an eye on Morata.

It is thought they could be persuaded to make a bid should the Spain international decided his future lies away from the Bernabeu.

Although Real Activated Morata's buy-back clause to re-sign him from Juventus, he is behind Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale in the pecking order.

Morata revealed earlier this month Chelsea made a serious offer for his services in the summer.

Alvaro Morata was the subject of serious interest from Arsenal and Chelsea in the summer

" Chelsea showed the most interest, " he told German paper Sport Bild.

" Antonio Conte had already signed me for Juventus.

" And it was a very good offer this time. I would have been the most expensive Spanish player ever."
