The 53 year-old Portuguese has wrapped up 9 wins, 6 draws and 3 defeats in the first 18 round of the league. They have been in fine form of late, and will be hopeful to make it five wins in a row. Although Chinese club offered United manager a fascinating price for transfer, he still wants to fight alongside United in the near future.

NO.8 Manuel Luis Pellegrini left, Pep Guardiola arrived

An away draw at Swansea City marked the end of management for Manuel Luis Pellegrini on May 15th. The Chilean then moved to China and began his new journey in Hebei China Fortune Football Club 3 month
later. Meanwhile, former Bayern Munich manager replaced him to be the head coach of Manchester City. The widely admired Spaniard comes to the club with high expectation and pressure, but he seemed to be confident with the Blue Moon in the future and be willing to welcome the challenge. Guardiola's arrival brought Premier League a fresh season, not to mention the records of Manchester City.

NO7. Aston Villa and Newcastle United's relegation

NO fight! No pride! No effort! Villa deserved to relegate?
Some are jubilant, but others are anxious. After losing to Manchester United 0-1 away from home, Aston Villa were relegated in advance on April 16th, 15 points adrift of the last 4th Norwich Cit. This moments is a shame for Villa since 1874, when they first built up squad. Meanwhile, another traditional giant in the top division - Newcastle United, relegated as well.

Oscar Dos Santos transferred from Chelsea to Shanghai SIPG with reportedly about €61 million, which has refreshed the transfer record of Chinese Super League. As we all know, Oscar's arrival will strengthen the club. Yet, he was lacking of playing chance in the Blues, so his condition is doubtful. What's more, how well can Oscar adapt to a new campaign would be another concern. Therefore, we still have to find out whether it is right or not for him to come here.

NO.4 Louis van Gaal's tumble
Louis van Gaal's tumble
Louis van Gaal's tumble
65-year-old Dutch manager Louis Van Gaal finally waved goodbye to Manchester Uinted after having a difficult time. However, here we won't talk about his struggling period, but want to talk about a funny moment to be remembered - Van Gaal's diving on the pitch. During Man United's 3-2 home clash against Arsenal, United manager made a humoristic action. In order to express his complaint about Arsenal player's diving, he imitated Sanchez's action and fell down to the floor in front of Arsene Wenger and the fourth official. What a funny manager!

NO.3 Ryan Giggs said goodbye to the Red Devils

Another veteran in Premier League, Ryan Giggs, left Manchester United on 2nd July after 29 year's working. There are rumours about his leaving. Many people thought that Jose Mourinho's arrival might be the most possible reason Manchester United manager, however, has said on his first press conference that Giggs wants to try to be a head coach rather than an assistant. Lately, Manchester United legend is in contention for the Swansea job, according to Dailystar. Will Swansea be the next stop for Giggs?

NO.2 Wenger coahced 20 years at Arsenal
Arsen Wenger, has an exactly alike name with Arsenal. When I first heard of this word, I can't help connecting him with the club Arsenal. He seemed to be innately belonging to the Gunners, and contributed more than 20 years to the club. During his career at Arsenal, professor created a strong team ranking rop 4 in Premier League, which makes him one of the most successful football coach es nowadays as well. Arsenal manager wrapped up 9 domestic champions for his club in 20-year's coaching, including 3 premier league titles and 6 FA Cup titles. Moreover, they have reached the chmapions League in 19 seasons in a row. Yet, what seemed to be missing is a trophy of UEFA Champions League for Wenger. Now the 67-year-old French becomes the longest-serving boss among all the managers who are coaching in the five richest leagues, but he is still filled with enthusiasm. Somebody like managerial position, Wenger's dedication should be indelible.

Pep Guardiola labels Jurgen Klopp the best manager in the world at one thing

Pep Guardiola And Jurgen Klopp
Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp
The final Premier League game of 2016 is likely to be an absolutely mouth-watering one, with Liverpool hosting Manchester City in the late kick-off.

It's a huge top-of-the-table clash, with the Reds currently on 40 points, six points behind leaders Chelsea and both a point and a place ahead of Man City.
The potentially ferocious and high-octane encounter will also renew the rivalry between Jurgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola, who tussled many times in Germany during their respective reigns in charge of Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich.

No team in the top eight has conceded more goals than Liverpool, and City will be massively bossted by the return from suspension of prolific marksman Sergio Aguero, however going forward, the Merseyside club are the division's top scorers on 45 goals.

Ahead of his first trip to Anfield, Guardiola, regarded by many as the best managerial mind in world football, has revealed his admiration for Liverpool's attacking, rock and roll style of football under Klopp and has even labelled the 49-year-old the best in the world in one department.

PEP:KLOPP THE BEST IN THE WORLD AT ONE THING

In his pre-match press conference, the Spanish coach said: " I like a lot the way they (Liverpool) play, because for the spectators, in three or four seconds, they are attcking.

"Maybe he (Klopp) is the best manager in the world -  the best manager who creates the teams attacking the back four with this amount of players, with this high intensity, with the ball, without the ball."

Guardiola, who won 14 trophies in just four yer at Barcelona, continued: " So, it's not easy to do that. They attack there (points centrally), out wide sometimes with Clyne, with Milner , but especially they attack inside
(the middle of the pitch) and they do it really well.

" I think there is not another team in the world attacking with so many players inside. I learned a lot in Germany, the first time I played against them (Klopp's Dortmund team) in the Supercup. I was new there and I said 'Wow'.

"it was a good lesson for me, that game, and we(Bayern) lost 4-2, and after in the league I learned a lot (more). I learned (how) to control a little bit that situation, but it's not easy, it's not easy.

"So, when he (Klopp) speaks about his football being 'heavy metal' I understand completely because it's so aggressive in that sense. So for the spectators and the fans, it's really really good, really good."

It promises to be a very eventful game, and a win for either side would be vital in their hopes of catching-up to Chelsea, whose club record 12-game unbeaten run has seen them break clear of the chasing pack.

Agent talks up Manchester United and Chelsea transfer target as £71m playmaker linked with exit

Jame-Rodriguez
Jame Rodriguez in Real Madrid
Manchesrter United and Chelsea target James Rodriguez is versatile and can do a job in various roles according to his agent, Jorge Mendes.

The Colombian international has struggled to settle at Real Madrid since his arrival in the Spanish capital in 2014, and has been limited to just 16 appearances in all competitions so far this season.

Despite that lack of playing time, he has still managed to produce nine assists and two goals to prove his quality, although it's clear that Zinedine Zidane prefers other options in his 4-3-3 system.

In turn, that hs consistently led to speculation linking Rodriguez with an exit from the Bernabeu, and Mendes appears to be doing his best to dismiss any fears about his client in that he can't be useful to his manager in other positions other than his natural one.

The 25-year-old will need to show flexibility and versatility whichever club he plays for, and with The Sun reporting both United and Chelsea are ready to splash out in January, Mendes has allayed any fears they might have over Rodriguez's character.

" He's a top player. He can play anywhere. He doesn't have to prove anything .

" He's a top player who has done well. Now, he has to recover to convince Zidane. I don't speak of clubs. We'll see what will happen."

It's added in the report that Real have no interest in selling their creative star in January, and so any intersted parties will have to wait until the summer to make their move.

Nevertheless, if the right move presents itself which allows the Spanish giants to recoup the £71m that they spent two years ago, as per BBC Sport, then perhaps they might be willing to do business giving the likes of United or Chelsea a mid-season boost.

Chelsea prepare £34m offer for Bundesliga star: Antonio Conte wants him at Stamford Bridge

The Italian boss has set his sights on the Bayern Munich star after failing in his attempts to sign Radja Nainggolan.

Antonio Conte tried to sign the Juventus midfielder in the summer but the Serie A champions refused to budge on their high asking price.

And according to The Sun, Conte has now given up on his pursuit of Nainggolan and will focus on trying to lure Vidal to Stamford Bridge.

The report suggests Chelsea will use the money from Oscar's £60m sale to Shanghai SIPG to make a £34m is like to be rejected.

The German giants will  hold out for closer to £40m before they even consider selling him.

Conte is a big fan of the Chilean and knows him well from their time together at Juventus after he signed him from Bayer Leverkusen.

Together they won three Serie A titles before Cone took up the position as Italy coach.

Vidal is under contract with Bayern until 2019, but Conte is confident he can persuade the Chile international into a reunion in west London.

Juventus boss Allegri wants to build Arsenal legacy
Massimillano Allegri is interested in the Arsenal job, according to reports.

The Sun suggests that the Juventus manager is eager to replace Arsene Wenger at the Emirates Stadium, and build his own legacy.

With Frenchman Wenger yet to sign a new deal beyond the current season, the Gunners are believed to be putting the feelers out to find a potential successor.

49-year-old Allegri has been linked with the job by Gazzetta dello Sport but now The Sun indicates that the Italian is actually keen on making the move to London.

It is understood that Allegri will leave Juventus this summer and with Wenger in his 20th season at the helm of the Gunners, a change could be in order.

Allegri's agent has made contact with Arsenal chiefs and has reportedly been encouraged by positive signs shown by the Premier League clun.

Other games on Arsenal's short-list include RB Leipzig's Ralph Hasenhuttl and AFC Bournemouth's Eddie Howe, while Atletico Madrid's Diego Simone and club legend Dennis Bergkamp have also been mentioned.

Atletico chief Gil Marin: Real Madrid should buy De Gea ahead of Courtois

Courtois

Atletico Madrid chief Miguel Angel Gil Marin won't have a problem should Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois move to Real Madrid.

Courtois had three seasons on-loan with Atletico, but there'll be no resentment from the club should he join Real.

"It will not sit badly if Madrid sign him," said Gil Marin.

" but I'd like it more if they signed De Gea because we would get 5%"

Manchester United keeper David de Gea is also a former Atleti player.

Carlos Tevez has completed  a move to join Shanghai Shenhua in the Chinese Super League.

Shanghai Shenhua have completed a deal to bring former Manchester United striker Carlos Tevez to the Chinese Super Leauge (CSL).

The CSL side have always brought in big-name players from Europe, with ex-Chelsea forward Demba Ba, Obafemi Marins and former Inter Milan midfielder Fredy Guarin among the long list of recruits.

Having finished fourth in the CSL this year, Poyet made Tevez his priority signing, and is keen to add Paris Saint-Germain winger Angel Di Maria to his squad.

Tevez's old club Boca Juniors all but confirmed the big-money move when they issued a statement that read:
"Good luck Carlitos, you will always be in our hearts."

This deal has further strengthened the CSL as a major powerhouse in would football, with Chelsea's Brazillian midfielder Oscar also talking to China last week for a fee of £60 million.

Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins wants Ryan Giggs to be next manager

SWANSEA chairman Huw Jenkins is pushing for Ryan Giggs to be the club's new manager.

Starsport understands Jenkins is keen for the Manchester United legend to be given a chance after he was previously overlooked.

The Swans' American owners opted for countryman Bob Bradley, who sacked yesterday after just 85 days in charge at The liberty Stadium.

Giggs would be a hugely popular choice for disillusioned fans and jenkins is believed to want the 43-year-old to be brought in quickly.

The former midfielder's management history spans just four matches in charge of United at the end of the 2013/14 season after David Moyes was sacked.

But Jenkins may be able to persuade new US owners Jason Levien and Steve Kaplan to consider Giggs this time after their disastrous experiment with Bradley backfire, with Swansea picking up just eight points out of a possible 33 since his arrival, conceding 29 goals in the process.

Chris Coleman
Chris Coleman is also in contention for the Swansea job
Wales are increasing confident they can hold onto national boss Chris Coleman and with Swansea wanting to make an appointment as quickly as possible, Giggs could be the man.

Sacked Birmingham boss Gary Rowett has emerged as another candidate and Harry Redknapp and Martin Jol also threw their names in the ring, but are not thought to be under consideration.

Former England boss Roy Hodgson is also available and keen to get back into management but Levien and Kaplan are sure to be aware bringing him in is unlikely to popular with fans.

Bradley hit out yesterday over his sacking, telling talkSPORT: " I'm a little bit p****d. I don't think it's the correct dicision.

" I believe in my works and I certainly knew that I was going into a difficult situation.

" I also understand that when you go in the clock's already tricking, so it's not like you're expecting all sorts of time.

" The discussions we had always included the work that needed to be done in January -  we had talked about players.

" I'm frustrated because I feel like every place I've been, I've been able to put my stamp on the team in terms of the mentality and the tactics.

" I think they [ the board ] need to realise that the work was good and even though the results haven't been what we would have wanted, turning around a team at the bottom of the table and low on confidence is one of the most difficult things you can do as a manager.

"In the whole time that I've been here I have never made excuses, I've never thrown a player under the bus - I've taken responsibility because I believe that's how you lead.

" I think the discussions [ with the board over transfers ] were going in a good direction.

" I think that [ new US owner ] Jason [ Levien ] and Steve [ Kaplan ] understand that the team need to be improved and that means spending money in January to make it happen."

Liverpool have a goalkeeper problem and should get Hart in January - Carragher

Liverpool have a goalkeeper problem
Liverpoll have a goalkeeper problem and should get Hart in January-Carragher
The former Reds defender believes Jurgen Klopp should be looking to bring in a new number one immediately to keep the club pushing for the Premier League title.

Jamie Carragher says Liverpool have got "a goalkeeping problem" and should be looking to bring in Manchester City outcast Joe Hart if the opportunity presents itself in January.

The Reds have struggled between the sticks for some time now, with Simon Mignolet never truly convincing following a big-money move from Sunderland.

Loris Karius was drafted in from Mainz over the summer to provide competition, and quickly inherited the starting berth in Jurgen Klopp's side.

He too has endured a tough time, with a collection of high-profile errors leading to him slipping back onto the bench.

Mignolet has been steady enough since returning to the fold but fell under the microscope again on Tuesday as he failed to keep out a Jon Walters header in Liverpool's 4-1 win over Stoke City.

Carragher admits Liverpool have serious issues to address in a key area of the field, claiming there is no confidence building in Klopp's defensive unit.

He told Sky Sports: " Liverpool have got a goalkeeping problem - it's not just one individual.

"The reason Karius was brought in was because Jurgen Klopp didn't think that Simon Mignolet was good enough.

" When a Liverpool goalkeeper gets asked to make a save that he should make, a lot of the time hey are going in.

"You can say it's poor defensively, but at times you want your goalkeeper to bail you out - that's what he's there for. I'm a centre-back myself and you don't play a game without making mistakes, and that's where your keeper comes into it."

Carragher believes the solution to the problem is simple, with Klopp needing to bring Hart back to England from a loan spell at Torino and keep Liverpool in the Premier League title hunt.

He added: "if someone said to me window is open and you can go and get Joe Hart, you'd do it. If was Jurgen Klopp, I'd do it.

" It is a great chance that Liverpool have got at the moment and it might be different next year with European football coming in and the managers that have come into this country now having another year's experience.

"Antonio Conte is flying at the moment, you think of someone like Pep Guardiola and the investment the other teams are going to have.

"Jurgen Klopp, when you're talking net spend, has virtually spent nothing since he has come in. He has done a remarkable job but the position Liverpool are in, if they get a chance to get a goalkeeper who has won Premier League titles, you do it."

Olivier Giroud close to signing new contract at Arsenal

Olivier Giroud in Arsenal
Olivier Giroud scored on his first Premier League start of the season in Arsenal's win over West Brom on Boxing Day
Olivier Giroud admits he has had a " difficult" season so far but is close to agreeing a new contract at Arsenal.

The France striker has been used sparingly by Arsene Wenger so far in the current campaign, but the celebrated his first Premier League start of the season by scoring the only goal in the Gunners' 1-0 Boxing Day win over West Brom.

Until Monday, Giroud had found himself limited to substitute appearances or starts in other competitions, with the winner against the Baggies only his sixth goal of the season.

After being handed an extended break after the European Championship, his route back into the side was blocked by Alexis Sanchez- who has shone since Wenger moved him into a more central role.

But Giroud, who was labelled a "fighter" by Wenger after the game, said he wants to remain at the Emirates Stadium - even if he has found this season difficult thus far.
Oliver Giroud
Olivier Giroud
"I came back a bit late from the Euros and it was nice for my body because I could rest bu not good for me because the team was doing well and another striker was doing well up front, " he said.

" The season has been difficult because also I was injured for a month and a half so it hasn't been easy.

" I don't want to talk too much about me but it was a big day for me, but a turning point for the team because if we didn't win we would have been in trouble."

Giroud was philosophical when pushed further on the issue -  and also said that, contrary to some reports, he has not penned a new deal at Arsenal.

"It is all bout keeping the focus high," he said when asked about being left out of the side.

"Always keep working hard at training. I was speaking with the boss, we had a couple of discussions together and he explained to me why I hadn't played too much until here.

" But football is an everlasting new beginning, as I used to say, and you always have to keep focused and wait for your time.

"people have been saying I have signed a new contract. It is not true but maybe soon."

2016 Ballon d'Or Winner? He is better.

Reading the title, some may ask that is it too early to talk about the Ballon d'Or as the winner will usually be announced in January next year. It is true with FIFA Ballon d'Or, but this year, it will be declared within a calendar year, that is on December 13th as France Football assumed their ownership of this award. Then who will be the winner?
New Ballon d'Or

Either Cristiano Ronaldo or Leo Messi has been awarded FIFA Ballon d'Or in the last 6 years. They have even occupied the second place most of the time with the Portuguese star 3 times and the Argentina captain 2 times.

FIFA Ballon d'Or, however, gave the fans an unfair feeling as the voting  group included national team captains and coaches, as well as the media representatives. Most of  the captains have voted for their national team or clubs teammates, and the coaches also had personal preference in such voting. Both of their choices may also be influenced by the respective football associations.
This is finally changed to a fair one in 2016 after FIFA ended their association with the Ballon d'Or earlier this year And the voting group is of international journalists instead.

Then who will edge out others in this fairest way to decide the winner? We should take a look at the rules first before we can give an answer.

In fact, greater weighting is given to both personal performance and team performance than to player quality, career and characteristic. That means, in 2016, a year of several major competitions, a player's performance and his national tam's honors in EURO 2016 will weigh more. Besides, honors in Champions League and major leagues are also important.

With two trophies of 2015-16 UEFA Champions League and UEFA Euro 2016 in his hand, Cristiano looks undoubtedly the winner. But is it true?

Other Competitors

The greatest threat is not from Messi, but from Antoine Griezmann. The France forward played against Cristaino in two finals . One is in UEFA Champions League where Atletico de Madrid lost to Real Madrid through penalty shoot-out. what's worse, Griezmann missed the penalty in regular time. The other is in UEFA Euro 2016 where Portugal beat France to win the final with an extra-time goal.

Leonel Messi

Anyway, the five-time Ballon d'Or winner cannot be forgotten.

Considering the goals, when Cristiano Ronaldo was injured at the beginning of 2016-17 season, Messi already scored 3 goals and collected a Spain Super Cup trophy. What's more, the Barcelona No. 10 scored back-to-back hat-trick in 2016-17 Champion League group against Celtic and Manchester City.

Compared by Cristiano, Messi is more of a team plaer. He became player. He became the spiritual  leader during a long period when Iniesta is out injured. The unpretentious Argentinean even directed some angry words at Los Ches' fans when Luis Suarez and Neymar got hit by bottles after his winning penalty against Valencia.

In fact, Messi is an indispensable member of Barcelona's success. During a period when Iniesta is missing and Andre Gomes needs more time to integrate himself into the squad, Nessi usually moved back into the midfield to organize the attack. And he also dovetailed well with Neymar and Luis Suarez up front, which is known as " MSN", one of the greatest frontlines in history.

The 29-year-old not only played an important role in Barcelona, but also in Argentina national team. During a period when he was missing from 3 World Cup qualifier matches due to injury , Argentina drew minows Venezuela and Peru back-to-back,and lost to Paraguay. However, when Messi is healthy, Argentina claimed a 1-0 win over Uruguay through a goal from him.

The Argentinean seems better than Cristiano peronally, but he failed to match him on team honors.

Barcelona suffered a shock Champions League exit in the quarter final last term. Also, Argentina lost the Copa America Centenario final where the Argentina captain missed the first penalty kick on penalties.

Cristiano Ronaldo

The three-time Ballon d'Or winner looks sharp on the eve of 2016 Ballon d'Or as La Liga's top scorer scored 6 goals in his last 3 La Liga games. Actually, he was also brilliant in the first half of 2016, getting two important trophies and scoring 35 goals in 36 league games, 16 goals in 12 Champions League games and 51 goals in 48 games of all events.

He missed the first leg of the first leg of the 2015-16 UEFA Champions League semi-final and was far from impressive in the final though. Cristiano is talisman for Real Madrid.
And his club Real Madrid now sit atop the League after 13 games with 33 points, 6 points ahead of second-placed Barcelona and Sevilla. And the Whites already booked a place in Knock-out stage of 2016-17 UEFA Champions League. Beside, they are participants of 2016 FIFA Club World Cup.

In Euro 2016, the Portugal captain failed to convert his 10 shots into goals in the first 2 group games, though. He scored a brace in the final group game. What's more, he scored a winner and provided 3 assists in the semi-final. Even if he played almost no part in the final, we still remember his touchline show.

What proves he is favorite for this award is that in August, the 31-year-old even claimed the 2015/16 UEFA Best Player in Europe Award. Don't forget that this award is also voted by journalists.
